Hope as an Anchor
April 28 – April 30, 2017
Friday 5 p.m. through Sunday 1:30 p.m.
Morven Barnes – Huntsville, Ontario
Morven and Doug both love ministering God’s word. They have 6 grandchildren and attend Port Sydney Bible Chapel. Morven keeps young by working with teenagers as she manages the city pool. Her Bible teaching is thoroughly researched and practical.
Ruth Schwertfeger – Brookfield, Wisconsin
Despite being a retired university professor as well as an author, Ruth’s teaching is no academic lecture. Her winsome style invites us to draw nearer to the Lord. She and husband Fred enjoy their 5 grandchildren, all now in school.
Enjoying God’s Rest – Rebecca Bohner
He offers it. We need it. But in a busy, demanding world, how do we find it? Take a walk through the green pastures of Scripture and discover what true rest is all about.
Character Study: Micah – Phyllis Day
First, the bad news: God’s holy judgement. The good news: His steadfast love. How can we reconcile these two? God’s prophet, Micah, may be just the man to give us helpful insights.
Be Tenderhearted – Maryanne Dixon
It’s a Biblical directive, but how can we be strong and tender, too? We need to have empathy, but can we be too soft? Godly examples and stories can give direction.
Positive Parenting – Jenn Dupre
Let’s look closely at our perfect Parent. He chooses us and enables us, the imperfect parents, to model Him to our children. We’ll encourage each other in this crucial role.
Our Bodies a Living Sacrifice – Eunice Free
Our flesh fights against this high calling every step of the way. We must fight back against sin for the blessing of others and the glory of God.
